MEMORIAL RIDE TO HONOR FALLEN HERO

The 3rd Annual LCPL Kyle Price Memorial Ride will happen on Saturday April 26th beginning at Woodlawn Memorial in Woodlawn and make a 140 mile loop through Centralia, Salem, Flora, Fairfield and Mt. Vernon where they will have brief ceremonies at the Veteran's Memorial in Veterans Memorial Park.  The ride will then venture to Kyle's graveside north of Waltonville.

The ride will finish at the Last Call Tavern in Ashely for dinner at 5:30pm, and entertainment at 7:00. 

Organizers say that the event is for everyone.  Even if you don't own a bike, vehicles are welcome.

PLUS - Filmmaker Anthony E. Cabral of ACE Films and former Marine SSgt Jamison Sweet are teaming up to tell the true story of a small town boy and a True American Hero. Filming of the ride will be taking place, so if you don't want to be filmed, be sure to let them know.

JEFFERSON COUNTY DAY - 2008!

It was so much fun in 2007, we decided to give it another shot in 2008!

At 7:05, Thursday July 24th, the SI Miners take on rival gateway Grizzlies to start a three game series at Rent One Park in Marion.

We'll make vouchers available and let you know when the team will be in town to sell tickets.  Lawn seats are $4. Reserve seats are $6 and Boxes for $8.

To help offset costs, the Chamber is selling single and double ads for its promotional page in the program.  The ads are full color and will be viewed by thousands of fans during their season with 51 home games.

 GRANADA CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS CONTINUES FUN FILM PROGRAM

Okay guys, yes - it's a "Chick-Flick" but, hey - it's Mother's Day afterall, so what better way to treat Mom than to take her to our Downtown jewel to see aa all time classic;  Steel Magnolias, starring Sally Fields, Dolly Parton, SHirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis & Julia Roberts.  Doors open at 2pm and the show begins at 3pm on Sunday, May 11th at the Granada. 

The event, sponsored by Once in a Lifetime Photography will also include family portraits projected onto the big screen!
